Matchstick Restaurant & Spirits

We had such a fun time at Matchstick with our group! We ordered a bunch of food to share — brisket, shrimp, Brussels sprouts, ribs, and a few desserts — and everything was absolutely delicious. The drinks were creative and super fun. The vibe of the place is great — really well-decorated and inviting. Plus, the staff was incredibly friendly and attentive. We’ll definitely be coming back!

We love this place. Love the food, service, and vibe. I had my 50th dinner celebration here last April, and our server was very friendly and accommodating.

Noah and Allie took care of us tonight! The food is great and the service is even better. Top notch. Best bourbon collection in the state. We drive over an hour to eat and drink here and then stay the night at the Crosby Hotel. Love this place!

Stopped in for drinks and lunch and hit the jackpot! On arrival, we were greeted by the bartender - John - who made our experience incredible. It was an adventure for us as John created cocktails that blew us away! We only wished we were spending the night so that we could have tasted more of his creations! We were lucky enough to be there early and he was able to take the time to listen to what we usually ordered and make suggestions for new things we could try. We will DEFINITELY be going back and will plan to spend more time at Matchstick with John and his fabulous concoctions! We also had the walnut salad and the french onion soup which were equally delicious. It was my birthday and we were treated to the beignets with raspberry sauce - a MUST have! Top tier service and top tier ambiance.

I do not order pork chops ever, EVER. When I come to Matchstick I always get the short rib however, was convinced that this pork chop was something else. When I tell you that this pork chop blew my mind I mean it was cooked to PERFECTION. I’ve never had one taste this perfect, massive thanks to Armand (the bartender) for recommending this dish. He also recommended a wonderful wine to pair with it as well.

We made a trip to Matchstick to celebrate, and right away, we were warmly greeted. We were quickly seated at a table and waited for our server. While waiting you can look around and see hundreds of bottles of whiskey from all over the world. The seating is very comfortable and cozy. We patiently waited at our dimly lit table as one of my all-time favorite servers approached. Holden came to our table and greeted us and provided great recommendations for the evening. He clearly explained the new menu since it had been a while and then got to work. We started with a crab and shrimp cocktail that was absolutely delicious, then we moved on to the wagyu, my all-time favorite. It was soft and tender and cooked to perfection. The next item we tried was the cauliflower fritters. I'm not a fan of cauliflower, but the crispy outside laced with their cheese cream sauce was divine. The carrots are never a disappointment and give a sweet and smokey flavor. The crab cakes were excellent and rich in decadent lemony flavor that leaves you wanting more. To wash it all down, what better choice than a few bottles of bubbly. Holden was very prompt and checked on us, as well as other staff members, to make sure we had a positive experience. Matchstick provides valet parking, but there is generally lots of street parking a block away and sometimes in front.

This was quite the unexpected gem that we discovered for dinner on Sunday night. It isn't cheap, but the food was all delicious and unique and the wine, bourbon, tequila, and much more may be one of the most extensive and high end in Minnesota. Especially the wine. They advise you that the food ordering and arrival sequence is similar to Tapas but the portions are not always small. We had the scallops (perfect), sausage cassoulet (rich and delicious), crab cakes, buchatini pasta, sweet potatoes (unique, spicy, wonderful), and an excellent martini to drink. I amused myself reading through the wine list and bourbons as the food came out. It is a huge book! The service was prompt and friendly, and the atmosphere was not too loud and has a very cool vibe with so much to admire with the ceiling and all the bottles on the wall. We can't wait to return! Only negatives were too low chairs at our table, some food orders are small (scallops) and large (buchatini pasta), so it is difficult to gauge how much food you are committing to, and it is expensive (17 grey goose martini). Still it was excellent and a strong 5 star dining experience. May 2025: amazing again! The manager is awesome and so helpful.

Excellent service and great food! We frequently eat at Matchstick and the servers and management are always top notch! Sam was our server last night, her and Asst. Mngr Noah went out of their way to make us feel comfortable on several occasions. There was a party that was being a bit loud, So we asked to move tables just so we could hear each other talk and they accommodated with no issue. I ordered a drink that I didn’t love so they offered three different times to replace I didn’t mind just drinking it. It was very kind that they offered. We had the brisket and the Korean ribs. Everything was Amazing as usual. Hands-down best dining experience in Stillwater!
